Overseas Crate, Tight Deadline, On-Time Delivery
A packaging distributor in Indianapolis, Ind. received an urgent request one Monday afternoon. A tech customer with a global presence had a big ask: They needed a custom overseas crate designed, built and delivered by that Friday morning.

He designed a CAD model of the custom wood crate from scratch, tailored specifically to the server cabinet’s dimensions and weight requirements, and sent the rendering to the customer. The customer approved the design and issued a purchase order within 24 hours.
“We sourced all the lumber locally by Wednesday afternoon, and used scrap foam from another project,” says Ackeret. “We were able to build and assemble the crate on Thursday, then we delivered the completed crate by Friday morning.”
Success! The tech customer was able to ship the server cabinet to its destination in Europe on time. Pro-Form even went beyond the build, providing detailed, step-by-step instructions for loading and reassembling the crate.
